Lisa, I use a laptop and I'll help you if I can. As for the desktop keyboard, if you learn you like it, you may as well just use laptop combos on a desktop. Let me know if I can help at all.

Hello all,
What is the jaws keystroke that will put your keyboard in learning mode? What I want to do is hit any key, or keystroke and have jaws announce the key or keystroke and what it does. This will help me learn where some of the keys are on a laptop since some of them are different the my desktop keyboard.
