I have encountered similar problems with Fire Fox. Whenever this happens, I press the tab key until the web page is back in focus. It seems that for some reason, JAWS displays the web page as if it were minimized although it is not.

If simply pressing the tab key does not work, I will sometimes resort to clicking the mouse once or twice. If I am not mistaken, you can cycle through all of your tabs in Fire Fox by pressing control plus tab. Once you lift up the control key, the web page you selected will be displayed.
