Estelita, The Customize dialogue has three pages, and it sounds like you've come in on the Toolbars page. Try pressing Ctrl + Tab to move to the Commands page. This dialogue is unlike almost any other, in that Word remembers the page you were last on even if you restart Word. So once you've moved to the Commands page once, Word will remember for you.
