Hello Listers,

I see now that the subjectline refers to skype 4.1.

My experience described in my previous message, relates to version 4 and I have
not tried 4.1, but the message about using version 3.8 with screen readers, is
now outdated if you install the jaws scripts for skype 4.

Regards

Riana

Hello Ming and List,

Skype 4 works very well, but you must install the jaws scripts. You no longer
have to compile them.

The menus look different from previous versions, but you can set it to classic
menus via options under the tools menu where one of the choices are between
skype and classic. I cannot recall the exact heading under options as I don't
have skype on this pc, but if you choose classic, you'll see the menu bar like
in previous versions.

To get into the tools menu before you've changed that setting, press
alt together with t. The call menu is alt with a and the contacts menu
alt with c.

Chats are now called I M messages and per default the double check on a contact
name puts one in the chat window, but you can change that to initiate a call,
like in previous versions.

The sound quality is also improved.

Does someone perhaps know how to go about it if one has forgotten your skype
password? There is a link on the site, but when entering there, although I know
that one is taken to a secure site as the url is https etc. I don't know what
exactly to do from there.

Alternatively, how does one delete a skype account and is it possible to do so
without having the password?

Regards

Riana

Hi,

I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard generally good things about it,
and the jaws scripts have been updated. Check out dlee.org/skype for more
info.
