The problem may well be that when I.E. displays the address, JAWS
sees it as complete words and reads it back that way. You can
temporarily change typing echo with insert and numbers row 2,
toggling between the choices. If changing typing echo does what you
want, then verbosity is the culprit. But if when i.e. fills in the
address JAWS echos what is on the screen--not what you are
typing--changing verbosity won't change the way JAWS speaks.

Ann, in the ie options, the first one under auto complete said web sites
would not be auto completed. What actually happens is that each word is
said aloud as I type rather than letters. Very unnerving as I lose track of
what I'm typing. Maybe this is a verbosity issue. I'm reluctant to get
into all that verbosity stuff again. So it isn't the auto complete thing.
Any ideas would be appreciated although on such a gorgeous spring day in
