I see. In versions below 2007, alt-t takes you into tools. Alt-r, w
doesn't bring up word Count up to office XP. Not sure about 2003.

I just tested it, and alt t w works, but alt r w words just the same, and it
is the w007 way of doing it. The word count is located on the review tab.
Alt t does not take you anyware except to the home tab because by it's self,
it is not a viable keystroke. But, alt t w works. It's just a hold over
from 2003. The 1003 menu bar commands don't work on their own. They work
only in conjunction with another keystroke such as alt t then w. Well, all
of them except alt f. that takes you to the office button. Use either
method, which ever works.

You sure you meant alt-r, and not alt-t? Alt-t, w is (or was) the usual
shortcut, I think. it may depend on the version of word. With Word XP (and

below, it's alt-t, w.

Do alt r, then w.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Word count short Cut Key

Hi
Is there a short cut key for counting the words in selected text in MS
Word 2007. Currently I have to do an entire spell check before finding out
how many words are in a particular section of a document.
     Thank you.

God bless,
Mark
