Its a permission issue, its part of the security of vista. That is
why i said install it in guest mode. That way it should be able to
use the video intercept..
If you un install jaws and reinstall, and let it go for all users.
This problem might be let through the security.

Guys, noticed something. Since I'm logged onto the guest account, if
I unload and reload JAWS, JAWS would run as a standard user, right?
This then surely means it can't communicate with the driver when
run at standard level or whatever it's called in Windows <smiles>.
Also, in guest accounts, I've noticed I cannot restart services once
I stopped them. For example, when I unload JAWS, I can't start JAWS
as a service with the following command:
net start jfwservice
According to NVDA (sorry moderators), it would display, "error 5,
access is denied". Now then, if I restart this PC and because I have
currently set JAWS to start automatically it would start as a
service no matter who logs on. It's only when I unload JAWS and
reload it in a guest account where problems occur. What do you all think?

So are you saying I should reinstall the Video Intercept? Or are
you saying I should reinstall Video Intercept using the Video
Intercept program?

Try installing the video intercept using narrator in the guest
account. you admin account has full rights to the program, but
the guest account don't. That is why it will run but won't after a restart.

Hello all,
I'm using the latest JAWS 10 running under Windows XP Home
Edition SP3. The computer is a Dell Dimention DIM2400 desktop PC
which is owned by my father for all of us to use. The problem is
that JAWS works as expected, however when I unload and reload,
JAWS behaves as if no video intercept was installed and will
behave this way until I restart the PC. I looked at the video
intercept information, and all appears to be well. Does anyone
know what's going on here? If this helps I'm using a guest
account rather than my own administrative account.
Please advise.
Thanks.
