I find that if I am switching between open Windows /applications in Vista,
occasionally the focus in Windows Explorer gets lost. I have noticed that
the focus always ends up in the Tool bar section. Yes, if you press Tab,
you will be in the search box. Additionally, you would need to press Tab
many times to get back to the "folder view"! The quickest way back is to
press Shift + Tab twice. Pressing once will place you on the header bar
and the second will place you back in the folder view where you can view
your list of folders and files. .
By the way, While in the Tool bar or the Header bar, you can find
additional useful controls. In the Tool bar you can use the left and
right arrows to get to different actions relevant to the selected file or
folder. Pressing space will activate the button. Likewise, the header
bar allows you to change the options of the folder view. You can use the
left and right arrow keys to move between columns. Press Space to get a
menu of options. I think just pressing Enter on a heading will sort the
list by that column and pressing Enter again will reverse the sort order.

not entirely sure if this is jaws or Vista, but I've noticed if I open
any folders, I end up with other windows too.
it takes me ages to tab round through to the files within the folder.
does anyone know what I mean?
if I alt tab away from this folder once I've found it that is, I end up
back in a search field and not in the folder. then I've got to start
tabbing around again to locate the list view.
I'm not sure if this is jaws losing focus, though, I'm thinking it is
more a folder option I have to change, but not sure what it is.
I've got vista home and jaws 9.
any help would be appreciated.
