Thank you so much! This makes sense.
Yes I have the Jaws 9 CD.
Do I need to delete any of the Freedom Scientific entries in the control pannel.

Do you have your JAWS9 CD (or a CD from another version of JAWS)? Do
you have your JAWS10 CD? If you've got JAWS9 CD, then you could
reinstall JAWS9. then Remove all of JAWS10, including shared components
(despite the warning prompt). then reinstall JAWS10. After that is
done, you may then remove all of JAWS9. When I say 'all of', I mean
that besides removing the program you then delete the JAWS folder in
Programs as well of the version which was removed; and once again remove
shared components.

If you don't have another JAWS CD besides that for JAWS10, then you will
need sighted assistance probably. the thing is, there is probably
something corrupted in your JAWS10 installation (which could have been
left over from JAWS9 or the Web download, etc.). This fault is likely
to remain even when you install JAWS11.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Totally removing Jaws

Hi everyone,

I am currently running Jaws 10 on a Vista laptop. I was previously
using Jaws 9.

A few months ago I found that I was unable to download the latest
update of Jaws from the help menu. My laptop would just freeze in the
process. I called Tech support and we tried to do this from the web
site, with the same results. I even reinstalled Jaws 10.

The tech told me that I would need to totally remove everything
regarding Jaws and then install Jaws 10. He said that with sighted
guidance this would take some time. I was advised to call back when I
had time.

Has anyone had to do this? Or do you have an idea for me.

Since Jaws is working well, I am even thinking of just waiting for
Jaws 11.

Thank you,
Russ
