Press control-shift-o to get to the list of objects and press enter on the one you want to remove. Then delete everything between the word before the object and the word after. Then, of course, insert a space between them. JAWS doesn't always report the object when you're on the text line. that's why you just wipe out all the characters between the words surrounding it.
