Hi,
under:
Jaws > Tools (or something well next to the option menu to the right ) you
find the configuration manager.
Go to set options > html > miscelanious (I suppose) (english translation?)
There is an option for document presentation which I set to screen layout.
In the same area you can suppress all automatic refreshing of web pages
which I find disturbing while reading a web page since the braille display
gets refreshed and the cursor position is restored to an other spot where I
was not reading and speech output gets interrupted.
Below html options in configuration manager there is an option menu for word
processing or such. I disabled language detection for all sorts of texts
since I happen to better understand foreign language texts when read with
German Eloquence since I got used to it back in the days where language
detection was not present and one just used the default synthesizer.
Btw.: I love the webformator by Audiodata which is Baum Retec AG nowadays.
It works with Ie8 and sometimes has a better or more complete presentation
of web sites. Navigation is not as developed but you could use it along side
with Jaws. Some Java-Based pull down menus do work with webformator and seem
to not work with Jaws. It always happens if there is no actual submit button
for a web form but the content of the page changes the moment that you
select the entry.
Best regards
Jeronimo
