Fred, here is some information that might help.

Setting up AVG 8.5
1. Go to the web site below and place it in your favorites.
http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe
2. Bring up your links list and press the letter d until it says, "Download
AVG 8.5 free from server." Pay attention because there is more than one
listing of the download. You want the one from the server.
3. Hit enter and this brings up the dialog that says run or save.
4. Select Run and follow the default settings.
Using The AVG Interface
Working with the update scheduling
1. Press alt and move to the components menu
2. Arrow down to updates manager and enter
3. Here you can make the choices displayed
Working with scheduling computer scanning
1. Find the scheduler in under the advanced setting dialog in the tools
menu.
2. When you open it, arrow down to schedules and right arrow
3. Now down arrow once to scheduled scan
4. Now tab and set up the dialog like you want it.
