I've always tried to prolong the updates and I'm quite sick of msn at this
point. Perhaps I will go back to it with Jaws 11 or something but for now
Miranda works ok. It has it's problems and needed quite alot of tweaking but
I prefer to be able to just talk without all the flashy stuff than not being
able to talk because of all the flashy stuff that I don't need.
The version of Miranda I downloaded did not work so I got the latest
version; 0.8 I believe. It works.
Sometimes i just get sick of fighting with the computer.

No you can't! Or, at least, not for long. MS is requiring that
everyone update to the latest version for security reasons. I heard a
date of Sept. 15th, but at least for the time being, my WLM version 8.5
is still working.

You could go back to Windows Messenger 5.1. It works well.
