What extra chunk? If you mean the welcome screen, you can disable it in
the
options menu under settings. Then it won't come up again when you start
the
messenger.

I got to where I don't notice the bullets anymore lol. I too
think it works well with jaws 10 too, which is what I am
using currentlyusing.
My sighted friend said a lot of the latest version has to do
with appearance changes, like they know display the avatar
on the opposite side of the chat window. The repeated alerts
when someone writes you is something I actually like,
because whan I have stepped out, I can still hear jaws
announcing the message, whereas I would before this , lots
of times, not even know someone treid to contact me until I
checked the open windows.

works.
