Hello Larry,
You might check to see if the messages in your sent items folder that show
the apostrophe are all reply messages. When you create or forward a message
the contact names are used as they appear in your contact list or address
book. However, when you reply to a message, the "To" field will show the
recipient's name in the way that the person chose to have it shown in the
"To" field of the original message. The apostrophe indicates that the
recipient chose to use a display name that might be different than it is
shown in your address book.
Take care.
Brian Lee

Hi Folks,
This morning I had occasion to look through the "Sent Items
Folder" in "Outlook XP" and I found that some of the sent
items were preceded by an ' and I wondered what if anything
that meant.
There doesn't seem to be any apparent consistency for the
appearance of the ' sign.
