But this attempt to save to text will not normally work on empty documents.
Jaws is announcing empty document and that means exactly that. There is no
text in the document so attempting to save to text will not work.
The announcement empty document normally means that the document has been
saved as a graphic picture scan. The only way to get the text readable will
be to run some OCR.
There are a number of ways of doing this.
If you have Kurzweil you can use this to open the pdf directly and the OCR
will be done automatically.
Omnipage and other scanning programs will also do the trick.
Personally I normally print to the virtual Microsoft document Image writer,
run OCR from there, and then use the export to Word utility in this
application. I do this as in my experience this has by far the best OCR
accuracy.
There are other free utilities called things like pdf to OCR which can be
downloaded from the Jaws User Page .

Best of luck

David Griffith

HiAmber,
After letting Adobe process the document, save as txt file from the file
menu. It should be readable by Jaws. I just had a simular situation and I
was able to read the file with jaws.
