All downloads there are demos until they are made into a
full version by means of activation keys.
Freeware is software that has always been a full version not
restricted whatsoever and no charge to use them. so no jaws
never 'becomes freeware'.

When you get a license it becomes freeware. But yes, without
a license it's 
shareware. It would be nice if the demos were thirty-day
demos instead of 
fourty-minute ones.

I like to think that JAWS is considered shareware. Same with
MAGic. That is,
you can try the program before buying it. Hope that helps.
