This will all depend on what you want to accomplish with a computer. I use
my laptop for everything. I love the portability of the laptop. I can take
it in the kitchen and use it to read recipes. I can sit on the couch or in
bed and do a ton of things with it. I can sit at the kitchen table and help
my daughter with her homework. I take it with me when I travel and can
access directions, contact info medical info, knitting patterns, etc. I've
used laptops since 1989. My next one will most likely be a netbook. I have
a full-size rubber roll-up keyboard for those times when I need a number pad
or I am working with someone else. When I get in a bind and JAWS stops
responding, I can pick up the laptop and take it to a sighted person in the
house. For 20 years, I used laptops at work, and for the past 2 years I've
been tied to a desktop at work and I hate it. I like being able to take my
JAWS settings with me and work independently and with confidence.

HTH,
Annette
