Hello Bill, You might try using your links list. Use insert with F7 to list the links. Each entry in a table of contents is shown as a link. Use the "move to link" command to move to the entry in the table of contents and use enter key on the link in the links list to move to the area being referenced by the link.
You can edit the table of contents by moving into it and then choosing "update table of contents" or "edit table of contents" from the context menu by using the application key. If you choose the update field choice you will get choices for updating only page numbers or the entire table. If you choose the edit choice you will be able to work with field codes and do other editing functions. Using F9 while the cursor is in the table of contents will update the current field, selecting all with CTRL+A and then pressing F9 should update all fields in the document including table of contents entries.
