I don't find Total Recorder as speech-friendly as earlier versions. However, if you to to the Settings menu, go into Recording Options and Parameters, or something like that. In that large dialogue, you can choose where it pulls the recording from. E.g., line in, microphone, etc. If you choose those, you should be fine. If you have it on sound board, you'll record everything from the sound board including Jaws. If you have two sound cards, you could have Jaws going to one, and your recordings being made off the other. That way, it wouldn't pick up Jaws because it would take only the digital stream from the sound card.

The only thing I could do was uninstall and reinstall which seemed to fix the problem. A temporary work around if you don't want to uninstall/reinstall, is to create a hot key to silence speech while in an application. I have to use this fix with GoldWave if I don't want Jaws talking when I press record. I would like to know did you see advantages to upgrading from v7 to v8? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 05, 2010 12:47 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Fw: jaws and total recorder version 8 > Vista and later; you can't use the user mode virtual device driver that > comes with the program. > > Chris Hallsworth > e-mail: [email protected] > MSN: [email protected] > Skype: chrishallsworth7266 > > I am also on Facebook. > > On 04/01/2010 16:42, Candy Lowe wrote: >> >> ----- Original Message ----- >> From: Candy >> To: [email protected] >> Sent: Monday, January 04, 2010 10:41 AM >> Subject: jaws and total recorder version 8 >> >> >> I just installed total recorder on my lap top.
