Hi Sue, Here is the short of it. Rich text format (RTF) A text document with specific formatting properties. Can be opened with Wordpad, Word, and other text editors. Portable document format (pdf) Again, has specific formatting properties and may be password protected. These documents can be read with Adobe Reader, or other pdf readers. You shouldn't have to worry about creating any, unless it is for some job or school requirement.
