Hello Patty, The Outlook address book is different from Outlook contacts. If you want to go to the Outlook address book then you can still use CTRL+shift+b. When it comes up then use tab to the "show names from" combo box. If address book is selected then you are using it and not contacts. Use down arrow or up arrow key in the combo box to locate contacts and then tab back to the list to see names listed in contacts. If in the combo box the Outlook address book is selected and no names are shown then when you create a new message Outlook must be getting names from contacts. If when contacts is chosen in the combo box there are no names in the list then Outlook must be getting the names that it fills in when you create a new message from the Outlook address book.
If you use a CTRL+3 to move to contacts then use tab key out of the card view to the tree view. Again if the Outlook address book is selected then tab into the list to see if you have names. If so, then it is likely being used by Outlook instead of contacts. Tab back to the tree view. Use up arrow or down arrow key in the list or if a level is closed then use right arrow to open it and down arrow into it and find contacts. Use tab to the list to see if names are listed in it. It sounds to me like when you create a new message Outlook is using contacts but when you move to the contacts area and there are no names it might be because you are in the list for the address book instead of contacts. It is very confusing the way Microsoft chose to have contacts separate from the Outlook address book. After using CTRL+3 to move into contacts again use tab key to the tree view and use arrow keys to move on to the "contacts" choice. Press application key and up arrow to the properties menu item. Press enter to open properties. Use CTRL+tab until you get to the Outlook address book page. Use tab key in that page of the dialog to the "show this folder as an Email address book and make sure it is checked. Use tab again to find out what the name of the address book is for your contacts. If you are using default settings then it should be "contacts." The "show this folder as an Email address book" should also be checked. Tab to the "apply" button and press spacebar and then tab to the OK button and press spacebar. Take care. Plain text is not checked. It still doesn't work pressing enter on the link in an email. Patti Hi Patti, Here is one thing to try for the links. I will write later about the contacts as I am just about to start a class. When the list of messages is in focus for the inbox press Alt+T to bring up the tools menu. Use up arrow key to the options choice and press enter key. Use the tab key to move to the Email options button and press spacebar. Use tab key until you find the checkbox for reading all mail in plain text and make sure it is not checked. Use spacebar to toggle between having the box checked or not checked. Use tab key to OK and press spacebar. Use OK button again if necessary to exit the dialogs. Hopefully you can use links after this change. Take care.
