If anyone is interested, I copied the JAWS 10 scripts for Windows Live Mail
to the JAWS 11 user settings directory and recompiled. JAWS 11 still will
not function correctly for me.
What screen resolution do you have set on the system that works reasonably
well?

Don,
I did not manually install any scripts. If scripts came with JAWS 11, I
never noticed.
However, I just did a insert plus Q and heard that Microsoft Widnows Live
Mail Version 14 settings are loaded, so, I assume there are prepackaged
scripts with JAWS.

Does that mean you deleted the "Windows Live Mail" scripts in the shared
directory that are shipped with JAWS? I have no user scripts loaded. I
have considered copying the JAWS 10 scripts to the JAWS 11 user
directory. Not usually advised, but easy to reverse if it makes matters
worse. It would make life easier if I did not need to switch back and
forth!

Hello Don,
I certainly understand your frustrations, however, I experience none of
those issues. I don't have any scripts loaded, and read the header
fields by tabbing through them. Perhaps, uninstalling JAWS scripts,
then uninstalling and re-installing Windows Live Mail may improve it's
performance.
It has a couple of minor quirks, but, after trying several different
clients, I chose it because I could sync all my email accounts with my
Windows Live email account.
Each email program I tried had one quirk or the other, so, I find WLM is
the best compromise for my needs.
I hope you are able to get better performance from it, but, I would
never suggest that it is the best, or easiest, just my personal
preference.
Blessings,
Stewart

Using JAWS 11 latest with Windows Live Mail, I can move between folders
all works well. It will announce unread and attachment when
appropriate, all is well. However, if I hit Enter on a message to read
the message, it will read only about 50% of the time. Most of the
time, the Delete key will announce "delete" but do nothing. Even using
Control + D, I can only read a couple of messages before it stops
reading correctly and nothing I do short of unloading and starting JAWS
again will it start reading again. If I attempt to compose a message it
gets confused regarding Forms Mode, and again sometimes, the only way
to get it right again is to restart JAWS. These issues make it unusable
for me! Strangely, the scripts that came with JAWS 10 work much better
for me!
Of course, there are also minor issues with both 10 and 11. The
address autocomplete name does not get announced. The number of unread
messages are not announced as you arrow through the folders. The last
thing I remember off the top of my head is that the hotkeys Alt + 1
through Alt + 3 do not work to read those header fields to read the
From, Date, and To fields. Using Alt + 6 to read the Subject is the
only such header info that reads reliably.

I'm using Windows Live Mail with JAWS 11, and have no problems reading
email with it.
What difficulties are you having, or, how is JAWS 10 reacting
differently than JAWS 11 in Windows Live Mail?

I am fairly sure that Windows Live Mail will not work well with JAWS
8 since I do not think Live existed at the time. I have had the best
luck using JAWS 10 with Windows Live Mail! In fact, I have been
switching from JAWS 11 back to JAWS 10 just to read mail and then
switching back to JAWS 11 for everything else. FS claims an update
is imminent. I hope it fixes this issue.
