You will need to have the first message in a particular group of messages highlighted to collapse/expand the group. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kimsan Song To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, February 13, 2010 10:47 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] conversations Mike: When I do the right arrow key to expand nothing happens. I'm going to try it right now there is an open office thread I want to use as a ginny pig. Please visit me on facebook. This means that all the messages in this thread are hidden except for 1. When your Jaws says " collapsed " you press your right arrow key to expand / expose all the other messages in this thread or all the messages pertaining to the same subject line. When you press your right arrow key to expand the message group Jaws will say " expanded ". It doesn't work perfectly and sometimes you will find a message pertaining to a collapsed thread somewhere in your list of various messages. If you come across a collapsed group of messages that the subject line doesn't interest you just press the delete key to delete all the messages in this thread rather than deleting them individually. When you press delete on a collapsed group of messages a dialog box will come up asking you if you are sure you want to delete/remove all of the messages and you tab to yes and press the space bar and they are gone. The way I have described this method is the way it works in Outlook Express. I am running XPSP3 Home, Outlook Express, & Jaws10/11 latest. It does take a little time to get used to using the group messages by conversation method, but after I got used to it i prefer it much better than the conventional method. Hope this helps. Take care.
