Hi mitchellit the computer recognises the pacmate because when you connect 
it , a synthesized voice announces that the device is connected, if I switch

off the unit it announces that the device is unconnected.  So when I connect

the unit to the computer shouldn't the braille display come on automaticly 
like the m-power?
