Good luck with all that.

Chris,
Thanks for enlightening me. At this point, I can either wait until FS
improve Jaws for 64 bits or take the plunge and install the 32 bits OS. I
do have the installation DVD, but I need to check if both 32 and 64 bits
are available.
I still do have my desktop with XP OS and it is working fine. I decided to
get a laptop to better prepare myself with windows7 if for some reason my
desktop computer quits on me. Also, I needed a way to stay in touch when I
am away from home.
Hopefully, FS will come through for us?
I will let you know if anything changes.

I'm not sure how you can get a laptop with a 64 bit OS preinstalled to go
back to 32 bit. I could suggest the obvious, but most laptops, if not all,
do not come with any installation media, and recovering using the recovery
partition will just reinstall the same OS. If you, like me, purchased the
installation media and it's Windows 7, then you have a choice of either
installing 32 or 64 bit depending on your preferences. The product key
supplied will work for either platform so activation shouldn't pose a
problem. This is because the retail package comes with both a 32 and 64
bit DVD. Anyway, back to the topic in hand.
It is most likely JAWS 64 bit having the issue, as you say you're not
having problems anywhere else.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Chris,
If my laptop came with OS with 64 bits installed, how can you go back to
32 bits? So do you think that the problem lies in Jaws or the 64 bits OS
system? My laptop seems to work normally in other areas, but I will have
to fight with office 2007 which I have no clues what to do yet!

Lenny, although I can't check this for you I think there are issues in
general with 64 bit JAWS under 64 bit operating systems. So as a result
I personally went back to 32 bit and of course using 32 bit JAWS.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] problem with check box navigation key on IE8
Hi,
I have a new Dell laptop using latest Jaws 11 (64 bits version)with
windows7.
I have a problem when I log on to my service provider to check my
Emails. When the Emails are displayed, Jaws cannot read or say check
boxes. My daughter tells me that the check boxes are displayed, but
using the 'X' navigation key, Jaws announces that there are no check
boxes.
I know that this is not a problem with my desktop computer using XP and
Jaws 11 latest (32 bits) and IE7. When the Emails are displayed, I
press the 'X' navigation key to jump to each email and delete any that
I don't want with the spacebar. This is not working with my laptop.
Is there any settings in IE8 or Jaws that would recognize the check
boxes using the 'X' navigation key? Also, other navigation keys seems
to work just fine. I haven't had the opportunity to check other web
sites with check boxes to verify if the problem still exists.
Any suggestions or help will greatly be appreciated.
Lennie
