Not sure if this still applies to outlook 2007, but when I was working we
used outlook back in 2006. Even if you set your options to delete after
closing you could go to the recovery option and retrieve them back.

Phil! It depends on how much information you have about the email for
which you are searching.
What I do is to:
go to the folder in which it is: usually the deleted items folder. If
you have set it to empty
after each session, Mate: you have shot yourself in the foot! If the
folder is still bulging:
press ctrl shift f and you will be presented with a number of choices.
from, to, subject, and so
on. In subject, it doesn't matter if you don't remember the entire
subject line, just a word is
sufficient, and press enter.
