Exactly!
I still own a XP Pro license and I might set that box up with software RAID
at some time.
I have a huge music collection I'd like to share between all my computers.
This machine would be a kind of file server.

Most new boxes have raid in the bios or has software on the harddrive 
that will do raid, or you can also get a raid controller card.
