Hmmmm
The only difference is, I use the hot-key alt+control+O
instead of the programs menu. I have a hard time believing
that is significant but next time I will try from the
programs list.

Hi Larry,

What happens that you cannot get into outlook?

I have exactly the same setup, Jaws 10 latest, xp pro,
outlook 2003, windows media player 11 and an older version
of win amp, version 5.24 and I don't experience that
problem.

There have been discussions on the win amp list that the
memory, after having closed win amp, is sometimes retained
for a while, but I haven't had any problem and use both
media players regularly, as well as Kurzweil and can switch
to outlook and open it from the start menu any time during
and after having exited them.

So I don't think your problem is with jaws. Earlier
versions of jaws 10 did have a focus problem and one still
sometimes gets the jaws application error when writing long
messages, but not often and it's independent from the media
players' use.

Regards,

Riana

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 10 and Outlook.

Hi Folks,

I finally took the techno-leap and installed Jaws 10.latest.
Everything seems to be working ok however when I exit either
WinAmp or Media Player I need to restart my machine in order
to get into my Outlook mail program. I am running Windows
XP-Pro, Jaws 10.latest and Outlook 2003. *not Outlook
Express*
I have checked all of my optimization settings for Jaws,
made certain the appropriate windows were maximized, still
with no success.

Any ideas?
