Mp3Directcut will work with mp3 files. It will not work with WMA files but you can convert these to mp3 and back to WMA files again with a utility like switch. In terms of merging Mp3 files, I actually find it easiest to do this with 7 zip. I am sure this is not the standard way of doing this and I do not think 7 zip advertise this feature but it works quickly and fine for me. To merge any number of mp3 files with 7 zip simply highlight the files in question in windows Explorer . The files will need to have names that mean they appear in the order you want to merge them. So if they are not in the right order put 01 at the beginning of the first one and 02 at the second one etc. Now press the application key to bring up the context menu . Go to the 7 zip menu and then select add to archive from the sub menu. Now tab to the compression level combo box in the 7 zip window that comes up and change the level from normal to store, using the up and down cursor key. Now simply press enter. 7 zip will close after creating a zip file of your merged mp3 files. back in windows Explorer highlight this file and press F2 to edit the file name. Now simply rename the file type zip at the end to mp3. Press enter twice ignoring the warning message that windows gives about changing file types and you are there.
