I have that problem too sometimes and I have to do windows key and D to
bring up the desktop.

Lately, I have had a problem with JAWS not wanting to read my desktop when

press Windows key and M. I don't know if this is a JAWS problem or a
computer problem. However, if I go into JAWS review mode, the desktop is
there. Any suggestions what is causing this? I am using JAWS 11 (the
latest version) with XP.
