See if there is any thing under tools and options in the maintenance page
saying delete messages from the delete folder on exit. If so, uncheck it

How do I prevent Windows Live messages from being automatically deleted
from the inbox. In outlook express I could keep emails in the inbox for
days to refer to them later if I liked. Now, Windows Live seems to delete
them upon closing the program. Although I can not determine when this will
happen since I can close and reopen the program and the inbox is in tact
and then I can close and reopen and the messages are deleted.
