Pro or not versions of windows, yes there are sume apps that won't work 32 bit wize, on a 64 bit OS of windows, although it's rare. IE, the real speak sapi5 voices won't work. Before some pulls out a pistil and blows my branes out, as some people have done on another list I won't reveal thinking i"m totally stupid, let me say this with no? confusion. I did? not? say! and I repeat: I did, not? say! the real speak Solo Direct voices wouldn't work in 64 bit. Those work fine. What I did! say! is the sapi 5! version won't work.

and that's really about the only thing. my Openbook 8.0 won't work, but I'm thinking that is cause I have an older build of v8, and I don't even think that is a 64 bit issue as much as a windows 7 compatibility issue.

It isn't a 64-bit key from JAWS. It's either a professional or a standard key. And, from what I'm given here, I see that some 32-bit programs may not work on professional, 64-bbit Windows. (that is my understanding, which is subject to modification!)

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 64 bit

Friends,
Basically what I understand is 64 bit computers will operate 32 bit programs. If that is the case would a person not be better off buying a 64 bit key from Jaws that way they have the choice to operate either. or is the 64 bit not going to recognize the 32 bit programs? Thanks for any information offered on this matter.
