I have not had the problem with those particular voices. However, I had a
trial version of another speech program that didn't work on my 64-bit
Windows 7 Professional system. I got it working by running it in
compatibility mode. There were various choices but I ran it as a XP
service
pack 2 program. You might want to give it a try. There are different
ways
to set it into a compatibility mode.
You can use the UAC to install a program in compatibility mode.
Administrative rights are required for installing or uninstalling. Use
the
application key on the installation file and use down arrow to find the
"run
as administrator" menu choice. Once you satisfy the UAC the process runs
in
the trusted installer in a system activated account that has access to the
secure locations.
You might also just try to use the compatibility wizard after normal
installation has been done. The compatibility wizard is found in control
panel, programs, programs and features. You can type "compatibility" in
the
Windows search box and you should find the "Run programs made for earlier
versions of Windows" choice. Press enter to start the wizard. Use the
"next" button. You will need to wait until a list of programs is
populated.
If you don't find the program in the list then you can use the "not
listed" choice which is at the top of the list of programs. Move focus to
it and then follow the steps of the wizard.
An alternative to using the compatibility wizard is to modify the
properties
of the program's shortcut. Move focus to the program's shortcut icon and
use the application key. Choose properties from the context menu. Use
CTRL+tab to move to the compatibility tab. Check the box for running
CTRL+the
program in compatibility mode by using spacebar on the checkbox if it is
not
checked. Use tab key to move to a list of earlier Windows versions to
choose one for the program. I don't think you need to worry much about
the
other items in the compatibility page of the dialog such as choosing to
run
in 256 colors, using 640 x 480 resolution, or running the program as an
administrator or disabling display scaling on high DPI.
I am not sure if this solution will resolve the problem but it might be
worth trying.

I don't understand this at all and I can't seem to find a solution.
I have jaws 11 on both my laptop and my new desktop computers. On the
laptop, running Windows 7, Jaws recognizes the A T & T Natural voices I
have
but for some odd reason, it doesn't on the desktop.
1. Has anyone else had this problem?
2. If so, what did you do to correct the issue?
I'd appreciate any help but I'm sure that Jaws will recognize those
voices.
I just don't know how it does it.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional on the desktop and Home Premium on the
laptop.
Someone on this list once indicated that those voices only work on Text
Aloud. I'd accept that but Crystal 16 reads to me all of the time when
I'm
using Jaws 11. HELP!!!
