The update failed on my netbook too. So had to download the full build
from the FS site.

When it got to the point where checking your system was completed the update
failed. It did not notify me that it changed me to demo mode. I then went out
and downloaded the full version, only 94 meg. It got partly way into the update
and jaws stopped talking stating that the 40 minute has expired. At this time I
just powered down since I did not know if my install was terminated. After the
restart I successfully updated to the new version. I think I would suggest just
to download the full version. I am using the 32 bit version on win 7
