Hello list, I came across this story earlier in todays' New York Times edition and thought it worthy of passing on to the group.
The site is still in beta form. I logged in using my Dish Network account information and initially it seems easy to get around. I haven't tried playing any media yet so I don't know how accessible that may be. There's also a link to send feedback and I would encourage other Dish subscribers to do so so that our needs as visually impaired subscribers are made aware of. I've already done so. If the account isn't in your name, then perhaps you can get whoever is the account holder to write on your behalf? It looks promising and hopefully, with enough of our input, Dish will implement whatever necessary designs in this new platform so that we can enjoy it from the outset and not as some afterthought addressed a way later date. Again, you need to be a Dish subscriber to be able to log in and use the site. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/23/business/media/23dish.html For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
