To update MSSE, check the following dialog:

1. Open MSSE from your desktop.

2. Tab to the home button.

3. Left arrow from there to see help, settings, etc. Hit spacebar on the update button.

4. With Jaws in SayAll mode, it will tell you whether it is up-to-date and the latest database number for the Anti-Virus and anti-Spyware portions of the program.

: Interesting because when I downloaded the files they both had the correct
: extension.

: Hi David;
:
: I figured out the problem. When you save the file it doesn't hav the "
.exe
: " file extension on the end. So I highlighted the file, pressed the F2
key
: and added the " .exe " extension to the end. Now, I can open it and get
an
: option to run the update. I don't know if anyone else has experienced
this
: problem but, I downloaded and saved the file in 3 different places on my
: harddrive and none of the downloads had a " .exe " extension on them.
Okay,
: have any of you other list members encountered this problem? All input
will
: be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.

: This is 1 hell of an update! LOL
: Anyway this is the file download name: mpam-fe
:
: I have tried many different programs to open it. With no success. Would : you or someone on the list, please give me a shove in the right direction?
: All help will be graciously accepted. Thanks much. Take care.

: In order to update your MSE version directly here are the links required. : The first is the 32 bit link and obviously the second is the 64 bit link:
:
: ***
: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=87341&clcid=0x409
:
: I'll be posting these links on the programs page, let's just all hope they : don't change them on us. It seems to me that they might just be as stable
as
: they can get so we'll find out.
