Have him try this. Open Avast with inset f11 and arrow down to update and enter. arrow down once to programs and follow the prompt. Think all you need to do, is be on program and hit enter.

hello there;

speaking of avast;
a friend of mine installed the avast5.exe, he's using windows xp, jaws11,
he doesn't receive no avast audio prompts.
for example;
after his avast does the definition updates, he only hears jaws say, okay button, and the information is on the screen, but, no audio/sound from the avast sound files.

if he goes into,
documents&setting, all users, then the avast folder/sounds,
he can play the files through windows media player,
however, the files won't play through winamp.
he's using the latest version of winamp.
also, the check boxes in avast/sound/settings are all check, even the voice over is checked.

hopefully someone will have a suggestion why the sounds won't work?

Hello, I use webroot on my computers! It takessome time to get use to but works and is quieter than AVG in it's scanning! Heather
