You should try this, it's easy to use and does a pretty good job.

Once it's installed,start the program and this is what you will see. for some reason it always lands on the "strip it" button for me, so just tab down to paste and then shift tab back through the other buttons. Use the edit field to clean up any headers or footers you want to get rid of. I feel like I'm probably telling you what you already know, but others will be able to use this also... Good luck.

To clean all the messy ">" characters from your emails perform the following
steps:
1. Paste the messy email into the box below
2. Press the "Strip It!" button to clean the email
3. Press the copy button to copy the cleaned email to the clipboard
