Just press enter on that button and it will open whatever application it is. For me, it's the button for my DSL connection. It's always shown up as just "Button," but I can press enter and land in the dialog that lets me check connection speed.

Then you can just press alt f 4 and all is well again.

I have a button on my system tray that isn't labeled,. It just says button when I arrow over it. Any idea how to find out what it is? It's not new, been there for ages.
