You can also try the following. This works in Word 2002 & 2003.
When in a Word document if you press shift + F3 you can change all
selected
text from lower case to upper case letters using this toggle keystroke and
pressing
enter on your selection.

Press Control A to select everything, then press Alt, H, and tab to Change
case. Press Spacebar on Change Case, tab to Upper Case, and press Spacebar
or Enter. That should change everything to upper case. To change it all to
lower case, do the same thing, only press the button for lower case.
