Thank you, Don.
It seems that my computers are not automatically receiving updates. I am running Vista and Windows 7.

I have checked the update area in the control pannel and believe everything is as it should be. I will check again tgomorrow to see if this is stilll true.

I have updated both of them from the updates in MSE.

If you have any ideas, I would sure like to hear them.

The status and times of the virus definitions is on the Update page. Press Tab until you reach the home button. Then use the Right Arrow once to move to the Update page. To read the text, you will need to use the JAWS cursor to poke around or just press Insert (CapsLock for laptop layout) + b, to read all of the text on that page.

Thank you, Don

Do you know how I can verify that my virus and spyware definitions are
up-to-date. I think they are working, but I just want to have Jaws tell me.

I had my wife look and she saw that they were up-to-date, but I had just
manually done this. Tomorrow morning I want to hear if, in fact this is
working.

Thanks again,
Russ

The Home "Button" is part of a control that operates like a Tab Control,
where there are different pages for each Tab. The term Tab here is in it's
likeness to tabs on physical file folders rather than the Tab key. You
really do not need to press Space to activate that page. Simply use the
Left and Right Arrow keys to find and activate the other pages. From left
to right, the page tabs are; Home, Update, History, Settings, Help, and
Additional Help Options. Once you are on the page you want, just use the
Tab key to move around to the controls on that page. Unfortunately, this
Tab Control does not indicate you are on this type of control when using
JAWS.

Hi everyone,

When using the PC cursor, when I tab to this button, Jaws tells me to
press
the spacebar. When I do this, nothing happens.

I then went to the Jaws cursor. I could now arrow down to hear such items
as, "Graphics, Virus and spyware definitions up-to-date." This was very
helpful.

Am I using this button correctly.
