Are you using JAWS12? If you are, get familiar with the Settings Center.
I don't know what you mean by dagger in the context of JAWS reading Web
pages, etc. In the Settings Center - press ctrl-shift-d for Default -
search edit, type Indicate Element Attribute .

You could try, "Indicate Element Attribute". Uncheck this.
