Yes it does.
I did not have to find any other spell checking program.

This is true, I very much agree especially having worked on a windows 7 this
past weekend and enabled windows mail. The question is according to what I
noticed doing a Google search windows mail contains it's own spell checking
program, is this true or did I simply misunderstand the information I was
reading and another peace of software is actually required?

The best person to ask is possibly you Pauline. Does your spell checking
feature in windows mail work properly?
