go to the run area in the start menu, and type regedit.
In the registry editor, there are many keys to access. Find these keys in the registry.
HKey_Local_Machine, Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version, Run.
Make sure to backup the key first using Alt+ F and export the key. Tab over to the right pane and go through the list of startup items. CTFMon is a system item so don't delete that. the values will point to the directory and file being started. You can also navigate to the same startup items for your personal logon. Instead of HKey_Local_Machine, use HKey_Current_User to substitute. Let me know if you are not sure about something. If you mess up, you can double click the exported backup to restore the values.

Hi John,
Thanks, I am capable of doing that on my own, but you didn't answer the original question.

Windows 7 is very much a memory hog and a processor hog. There are some things you can do to eliminate items from starting up when you start windows. I usually go to the registry and start deleting values. Let me know if you're interested and I'll step you through.

Are there any recommended settings for Jaws in Windows 7?
I have looked at the FS website, with no joy.
Thanks in advance,
Rick Justice
