Hello Scott, The cells won't be automatically merged. If the cells were copied as merged cells then that is the way they will be pasted. Excel doesn't automatically merge cells to allow for expansion of an individual cell. You can remove the merge by going to the merged cells, pressing CTRL+1, moving to the alignment page tab by using CTRL+tab key if necessary, and using the tab key to the checkbox for merging cells. Use spacebar to check or uncheck the checkbox. This might cause data not to print right or to not be shown in the worksheet. There are a few scenarios. You might try removing the merge, using CTRL+1 to go back into the cell formatting dialog, going back to the alignment page tab, and using the tab key to the Wrap Text checkbox. Checking that box will cause text to wrap in the cell according to column width. If text wraps in the middle of a word or where you don't want it to wrap then use F2 to go into the editing of the cell, move to the place where you want a line break within the cell and use Alt enter to force a new line. I find that this approach generally works well. You can also set column width to automatic, but sometimes even though column width is set to automatic, the results are not what you want. Sometimes, adjusting cell height and using automatic column width works. However, being that this is in just one area of your worksheet, you might find that removing the merge and then just editing by adding the manual line breaks will do what you want.
Feel free to Email me if you want me to clarify any of the above points. Take care. In most of the cells, the date and description were put in separately thus you can move from cell to cell and read date by up or down arrow or the description in the same way . in some cases when on the date column it says merge cell b1.c1 , guess this was a copy and paste having too much information to fit in one cell it expanded to both cells. How can I fix this without retyping the information again.
