Hi Some programs, such as Internet Explorer, use many of the keys for quick navigation and other JAWS purposes. If you just mute the synthesizer, these keys will still be active which will confuse a non-JAWS user.

Remember, that if you leave Jaws running, but merely quieten it, Jaws will affect the interface. This means things will not necessarily act as the sited person expects. Therefore, I would recommend using your Insert F 4, to unload Jaws and when you want it back, use your easy to make shortcut key of Control Alt J, to bring Jaws back up.
