Dear Susie!
Please press an application key on the .doc files, and select
associations menu, and select microsoft word.
I had the same problem, with libre office and .docx files, but I made it
with this undermenu, but if it not exist, press the associate button, in
applacition key menu, and select from the tree view microsoft word.
