Let me start by saying I'm not on JAWS 12. I only have 11.0.1461.

Anyway, Aim 7.5.8.2.

I've connected my Facebook account to AIM, and have also enabled under settings, the Lifestream tab. This is extremely! ridiculously! accessible, so much so, I'm literally shocked, and it takes a lot to shock me, believe you me! Anyway, the only kind a weird thing is, regardless what tab I'm on in the AIM window, being Lifestream, be it buddy list, whatever, if I tab over with the tab key to the edit box to type in a status message to update my status, say, on Facebook, or wherever, it works just fine, and yeah, it posts, flawlessly, but, for some really perplexing reason or another, I'm on no key echo. Now, when I hit the space bar after each word I type in that status box, JAWS says the word, pressed. I dono if it would make a difference if I used word echo. Here... let me try... hunt uh, both characters, and word echo are both! doing the same thing. Is that! not totally? bazaar? I went into the configuration manager, set options, keyboard options, and to the key labels tab, and set space to mute, but that did no good. the odd thing too is, it's saying triten.jcf. I didn't think I was using triten messenger, or is that cause the Triten U I framework is what AIM bases its interface around? Yeah... I dunno. I'm kind of honestly, stumped on this one. NOrmally, I'm advanced enough of a jaws user and in general, of a PC user to figure this crap out, but man, I tell ya: I'm pullen my hair out over here!

I wonder if I was to modify the jss file and add a script that binds the space key to still be able to be passed through the program, but not say space, but instead just say nothing. I guess do like a SayString ("")

SayString ("")
{Space}

I dono, hmm, that's food for thought. You got me curious to try sumpthin:

Huhhoa! wow! Now! I'm r'r'really stumped! I just tried typing in that box, and before hititng space, I did a insert+num row 3, to do a bypass key through, then hit space. Even that! still said pressed. So, that leads me to think it's probably nothing that's being somhow invoked from a script, although I'm no genious at script writing, i'll honestly admit.

Anyone have any clue? I must say, I'm clueless! I have no idea.

Chris.
