The elipsis is only read as such when punctuation level is set to All, at
least that is the default behavior.
If you are still hearing elipsis, you can go into the customize
punctuation dialog and set it not to speak anything when it encounters
that symbol. Customize punctuation is only available in the default
configuration file for all applications.

I read a lot of books from bookshare on my computer using Jaws 11. In the
dialog I often come across an ellipsis. I wish to silence it, but haven't
been able to do so. Putting it in the Jaws dictionary manager, hasn't
worked.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

To do what you are wanting to do, I think you will have to do this in
the
default dictionary manager. Otherwise 3 periods is called an ellipsis.

I am using the latest jaws 12 by the way. I'm thinking by setting the
spoken
level to some or most might do the trick but I haven't done that yet.
